Privacy Policy

Clearday ("the app") is operated by Edworthy Media and Technology Limited ("we", "us"). Clearday shows your availability across the Google and Microsoft calendar accounts you connect, and can optionally mirror events between them. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

What we store

Clearday is designed to store as little as possible. Our servers store only:

• An anonymous app identifier — a random ID created on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any account you hold with us (we don't have accounts).
• Calendar connection records — for each calendar you connect: the provider (Google or Microsoft), the email address of the connected calendar, and the OAuth tokens needed to read and write that calendar on your behalf.
• Your sync preference — whether calendar mirroring is off, "busy times only", or "full details".

What we do not store

• We do not store your calendar events. Event data is fetched live from Google and Microsoft when you open the app and is not retained on our servers.
• We do not store your name, contacts, location, or device information.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.

How calendar data is used

• Availability view: events from your connected calendars are read to display your combined schedule in the app.
• Event creation: when you add an event in the app, it is written to the calendars you select.
• Calendar sync (optional, off by default): if you enable it, events are copied between your own connected calendars. In "busy times only" mode, copies are created as private "Busy" blocks without titles. Sync copies are written into your calendars — they pass through our server but are not retained by it.
• Reminders: event reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to our servers or to third-party push services.

Use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer, sell, or use Google user data for advertising, and humans do not read it.

Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR)

We process your data to provide the service you request (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b)). Optional calendar sync is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by turning sync off.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Data flows only between your device, our server, and the calendar providers (Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation) you have connected. Those providers process your data under their own privacy policies.

Security

All connections use HTTPS/TLS. OAuth tokens are stored server-side and are used solely to access the calendars you connected. We never see or store your Google or Microsoft passwords.

Retention and deletion

• Removing a calendar in the app immediately deletes its connection record and tokens from our server.
• You can also revoke Clearday's access at any time from your Google account permissions or Microsoft account permissions.
• Turning sync off stops all mirroring; previously created copies remain in your calendars and can be deleted like any other event.
• Deleting the app leaves no personal data on your device beyond what your OS retains for uninstalled apps.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because we hold almost nothing about you, the fastest route is usually removing your calendars in the app. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within one month. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Children

Clearday is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly process their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
